Smoked cream cheese is the easiest and most delicious appetizer you’ll ever make. A block of cream cheese is seasoned, smoked low and slow, and transformed into a smoky, creamy, flavor-packed spread that’s perfect for crackers, chips, or veggies.

- 8-ounce block of cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon BBQ rub or seasoning
- 1 teaspoon olive oil (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs or scallions (optional, for garnish)
- Crackers, chips, or vegetables (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your smoker or grill to 225°F using indirect heat.
- Place the unwrapped cream cheese on a foil pan or grill-safe dish.
- Lightly brush with olive oil, if using. Score the top of the block in a crisscross pattern with a knife.
- Sprinkle BBQ rub evenly over the top and sides of the cream cheese.
- Place the dish in the smoker and cook for 2 hours until golden and soft.
- Remove from smoker, let rest 10 minutes, then garnish with herbs or scallions.
- Serve warm with crackers, chips, or veggies.
