Description

Crispy on the outside and chewy in the center, these homemade Hobnobs are the perfect oat biscuits for your afternoon tea or a cozy snack moment.

Ingredients

  • Rolled Oats: 1 cup (100g)
  • All-Purpose Flour: 3/4 cup (90g)
  • Brown Sugar: 1/2 cup (100g)
  • Baking Soda: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Unsalted Butter: 1/2 cup (115g), melted
  • Golden Syrup or Honey: 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Stir in the melted butter, golden syrup, and vanilla extract until a crumbly dough forms.
  3. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and gently roll into balls. Place them on the tray and flatten slightly.
  4. Space the biscuits about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.
  5. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers still look soft.
  6. Let them cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack to cool completely.
  7. Serve with tea or enjoy as a snack anytime.
