- 1 large onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions, jalapeños
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef (or turkey) to the pot. Cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, and black beans. Stir to combine.
- Pour in the broth and add the Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
- Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer uncovered for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
