- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for frying
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap. Pound them gently with a meat mallet until they are about 1/2 inch thick.
- In a shallow dish, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In another shallow dish, beat the eggs until well combined.
- Place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.
- Dip each chicken breast in the seasoned flour, shaking off the excess. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken breasts for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a baking dish. Top each piece with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
